New Years Resolutions

I decided this year I was not going to make any resolutions. They are never kept, instead I've made a to do list for the first few months of the year. My biggest project is to work on the house. I always get this bug right after Christmas. I take down my Christmas decorations and decide my house looks bare so I start decorating, move things around, etc. We have undertaken some pretty big renovations the past couple years (new tile downstairs, redid our master bath with granite and travertine, new front door, wood floors completely upstairs, and new carpet on stairs and formal dining and office, every room in our house has been painted and some rooms have been painted 2-3 times since we lived here 7 years, changed every door knob and light fixture in the house, etc).

This time no major renovations we are just sprucing up the house; however this is going to require major furniture moving. I've decided the play room is going bye bye. Bianca does not use it and it has turned into Matthew's abyss of toys. I'm cleaning out the toys, reorganizing his room and moving the rest to his room. Maybe he will actually spend time in there. Right now it has a bed, armoire and beautiful toy chest my dad builit for him that is empty. It's decorated in surf/beach theme and is so cute but he does not play in there or sleep in there (yeah that's a whole other issue I'm working on).

We are then moving the office back to where the play room was (I will have to repaint though) move the dining room back to where the office was, and then use the formal living as a formal living. (might need new furniture, lol)

We have also decided that we hardly ever use the game room upstairs. Jerry redid this room 2 years ago with a beautiful leather sectional and huge TV. We have come to the realization that we just dont use the room anymore. We are always downstairs in the kitchen and in the family room, so we are thinking about moving the sectional and HUGE tv downstairs and making the game room a real game room with a bar, flat screen on the fall, and maybe a pool table and some leather recliners?? Not sure yet. That means I will proably move the leather sofa from family room to the new formal living room??

Another major project is going to reorganize all my Christmas stuff. Right now I put everything in my guest room. You would not believe it if you saw it. I usually store most of it in guest room closet but I'm running out of room, so I want to reorganize it so most of it goes into the attick and save my closet space. So this weekend I will be buying tons of bins to start packing it all away.

Once this is all done my next major project is to organize all my photos and get my scrapbooks up to date and begin my journey into digital scrapbooking! :-)

I think that's enought to take me through the first quarter of 2008. I'll then work on my list for the rest of 2008 :-)
